YouTube profile player

This item will allow you to display YouTube videos on your profile.
This item replaces the old and outdated “Profile Music” item we had. This feature is mainly meant to be used as a music player, but technically any valid video URL is permitted. Another cool perk of this item is that it will allow you to also feature a subscribe button on your forum profile to whatever channel you would like and, optionally, display the current subscriber count as well. Like anything on the forum, videos that are abusive, annoying, or otherwise beyond the scope of the forum will be removed with potentially the item being removed from your account entirely with no refund, so please do not someone who abuses this feature.

Configuring this item:
This item will only accept videos that are already on YouTube. No other links or values will be accepted.
  1. Find the video that you want to feature on your profile on YouTube and make note of the link.
  2. The link for a YouTube video looks like the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usN1gu_7sAI
  3. You will notice that after the equals sign, the link is bold and highlighted in red. This is known as the video ID and you will need to have this ID in order to use the feature. Make sure you take note of this ID so you can use it for the next step.
  4. You will then want to go to your preferences on the forum until you see an option for "Profile video". In this box, you will want to paste/type in the video ID that you got from the previous step. Of course, this option will not appear for you in preferences if you have not bought this item.
  5. You will then have an option to autoplay the video. What this means is that when someone lands on your profile, the video will automatically start playing. The effectiveness of this varies depending on operating system, device, and user security settings (meaning that on some devices and with certain security settings enabled, the video may not autoplay even with this setting on). At this point, you should have something that looks like the following:
    full
  6. You can click the "Save" button at the bottom and your changes will be saved and the YouTube video will be displayed on your profile. You can continue to go back into your preferences and change the video ID as often as you would like to feature a different video. If you are interested in utilizing the subscriber button feature, then continue onto the next steps. Otherwise, you are finished with featuring the YouTube video.
  7. You will want to check off the "Enable subscribe button" and you will then be presented with more options.
  8. The first additional option is the username or ID of the YouTube channel you want to feature. If you do not know this information, then you will need to make sure you are logged in to the correct YouTube account and visit the following link.
  9. Look for a field called "Channel ID". Copy this field into the first box.
  10. You then have two additional options to configure: "Display format" and "Number of subscribers". If you select "Default" for the display format, then you will not see your YouTube profile picture next to the subscribe button. If you select "Full" for the display format, then you will see your YouTube profile picture next to the subscribe button. If you select "Display" for the number of subscribers, then it will display how many subscribers you currently have next to the subscribe button. If you select "Hidden" for the number of subscribers, then it will just show the subscribe button and not how many subscribers you currently have.
Note: If you are on a mobile device or any other device that does not have a ton of horizontal real estate, then the video player will be pushed towards the bottom of your profile to not break responsiveness.

If you have additional questions or problems, please post a thread in the "Forum Suggestions and Support" section for assistance.
