Do you conserve or spam shells?

Usually, I'll conserve shells, so that I can use them later when they are needed. I can't understand those idiots that spam red shells and they just hit the wall. When I use reds, especially when I get triple reds, I'll use them in spaces of 3-4 seconds, rather than just spamming them. When I triple shells around me, I like to keep them around me so I can use them as a protective shield. Although, some people don't like doing this because the the shells could hit you if you get shocked, after they land on the ground.

I usually conserve them for awhile and then spam them all when there are a bunch of people in front/behind me

It really depends on my placement. If I'm in 1st, I'll usually backspam whenever I get something, but also have another item I can hold out to defend myself if a red or whatever is coming after me. Any other position, I'll usually conserve them and throw them when I can (i.e: when it most likely isn't going to hit a wall or any other course obstacle). But yeah, it's definitely very situational for me.

I conserve them; The only time when I spam them is when near the finish line,Mao get the guy in front of me.

I prefer to conserve the shells, but with a good angle of attack forward or backward, I use them without hesitation.

If I'm in first, I save them in case of a red shell.

If I'm in a lower position, I usually spam them.
