Is a green shell or red shell better?

I guess you say that they're pretty even. You have more control over green shells, which allows you to make creative plays (hitting items, bouncing off walls to hit people, sniping people at your own choice), but more control can lead to more mistakes. The red shells offer less control and less plays, but makes aiming for someone much easier.

I'd have to go with red shells though because they are great for trolling and getting certain people right out of your way.

I would take red shells because I usually use them for defense anyway.

If red shells worked like they did in Mario Kart 8; easily red shells. But if a person is right in front of you, you can get them all the way out with triple reds which is nice. But as you said, you can get more creative with green shells as they bounce off of walls and such.

On MKWii: Green Shell > Red Shell
On MK8: Red Shell > Green Shell

Seem like MKWii's red shell is still broken since 2008. Need to fix it to better one, like MK8's red shell.

And I'd prefer green shell because it can bounce off the wall and they will get hit.
Lag is happened when I threw a green shell and someone got hit when he is behind the green shell in my screen, lol.
