So if you’re like me and don’t have a capture card or it doesn’t work or whatever the case may be and want to record your TTs, you make to the right place.

To record in Live Replay, you will need the following things:
- Dolphin Emulator (5.0 is the only one that works well)
- An ISO (simply Google one for your region)
- WiiScrubber
- SwareJonge’s Speedometer (optional)

1) Once you have all these downloaded go ahead and unzip WiiScrubber.
2) You will get a folder so go ahead and open it up. You'll see some files the first one you want to click on is MakeKey.Bin
3) Once you have MakeKey.Bin opened, you'll want to enter the number it asks you to enter. (You only need to do this once)
4) After this it should say Key created so now go ahead and open WiiScrubber.exe and click Load ISO on the top left
5) Install your ghost you want to import into Dolphin. You can find the ghost you want by going to Chadsoft and finding your ghost in the category that you set your run in
6) Download the ghost where it says "The ghost data can be downloaded at <download link>" Shown in this screenshot 1576245607811.png
7) Once you have the ghost the file name will be something like 01m12s9927599 blah blah blah.rkg
8) You'll need two ghosts so make a copy of the one you downloaded
9) Rename the rkg file ghost1_comp_[track ID] and ghost2_comp_[track ID] for example for Peach Beach I would do ghost1_comp_24 and ghost2_comp_24

Track IDs:

  • Luigi Circuit - 00
  • Moo Moo Meadows - 01
  • Mushroom Gorge - 02
  • Toad's Factory - 03
  • Mario Circuit - 04
  • Coconut Mall - 05
  • DK Summit - 06
  • Wario's Gold Mine - 07
  • Daisy Circuit - 08
  • Koopa Cape - 09
  • Maple Treeway - 11
  • Grumble Volcano - 10
  • Dry Dry Ruins - 13
  • Moonview Highway - 12
  • Bowser's Castle - 14
  • Rainbow Road - 15
  • GCN Peach Beach - 24
  • DS Yoshi Falls - 28
  • SNES Ghost Valley 2 - 17
  • N64 Mario Raceway - 21
  • N64 Sherbet Land - 20
  • GBA Shy Guy Beach - 16
  • DS Delfino Square - 31
  • GCN Waluigi Stadium - 26
  • DS Desert Hills - 29
  • GBA Bowser Castle 3 - 19
  • N64 DK's Jungle Parkway - 22
  • GCN Mario Circuit - 25
  • SNES Mario Circuit 3 - 18
  • DS Peach Gardens - 30
  • GCN DK Mountain - 27
  • N64 Bowser's Castle - 23
10) So once you have these two ghosts installed open up WiiScrubber then WiiScrubber.exe
11) Click "Load ISO" in the top left corner and then select the Mario Kart Wii ISO you installed
12) Once you have it open, to replace the ghosts go to Partition 1< Race<Time Attack<Ghost 1<Find the ID of the track you want to replace, (so if I want to replace Peach Beach I would replace the file ghost1_comp_24 and ghost2_comp_24) Right click the file and click replace and find the ghost file for your corresponding RKG File.'
13) Repeat step 12 but instead of ghost 1, do ghost 2
14) So now here comes the fun part! Open up Dolphin double click the center where it says No Directory.
15) Select the ISO and a banner should pop up that says Mario Kart WIi (if the game opens simply close it)
16) Right click the Mario Kart Wii banner and click properties, then go to Gecko Codes and click Edit Config on the bottom left
17) Replace everything including [Gecko] with the following

[Gecko]
$No Music
0489d940 30000000
$No Ghost Saving
04543C00 60000000
$No Nintendo Flag
045CCD30 38000000

60000003 00000001
6000001F 00000000
14000000 00000100
18000004 00000000
20180004 00000000
5A010000 00000070
62000000 00000000
5A010000 00008188
14000000 FFFFFFFF
14000004 031FFFFC
5A010000 00000468
62000000 00000001
E0000000 80008000
18) Now you're basically done. open up Dolphin then the Speedometer go to your track you must select the exact SAME CHARACTER AND VEHICLE COMBO as the run
19) Happy playing!

I actually could start trying this for my regular track ghosts

Haven’t tested this on Mac yet but if anyone’s on Linux, WiiScrubber.exe works just fine through wine. If for whatever reason you don’t know how to get it on Linux:

For Ubuntu based distros: (Top is 64 bit, bottom is 32 bit)
Bash:
sudo apt install wine64
sudo apt install wine32

For Arch based distros:
Bash:
nano /etc/pacman.conf
Then uncomment
Bash:
[multilib]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
Then save the file and run
Bash:
pacman -Syu
pacman -S wine

If you’re on some other distro and dunno how to install it, feel free to ask or just google it.

Also just tried this and it works pretty well, but if you cant record on dolphin because of lag, just change the emulation speed to for example 50% and double the video speed when editing. Just remember to record 30fps since when sped up you'll get 60fps

Edit: Turns out you can just use frame dumping to get videos with basically perfect quality no matter how powerful your pc is

Yeah, it does take a bit to record but the quality is amazing

MH is ID 12, DDR is ID 13
Ignore this I had it copied wrong on my laptop

Wait, I think I asked this before but forgot, but do you turn the song into a brstm and put it in mkwii or how do you put the music in?

Most of the WR videos on e.g. CTGP Records are recorded with an additional No Music code and the song will be added with a video editor afterwards.

What video editor works the best? I think I used filmora

I use Sony Vegas 15, but Shotcut is a free and great alternative. Filmora sucks, imo.

Is there a PAL version for the No Name Tag code? Tried this one, didn't work and also I can't seem to find one when I search it up

I can look for one in a bit, but you can just use an NTSC iso. Region doesnt matter since its emu

I need to investigate why I can't frame dump, I used to be able to, then couldn't after I re-downloaded it...

What version of dolphin did you download?

5.0-12257, the latest version

That odd. Also I'll probably write an updated thread for advanced live replay that also mentions frame dumping and stuff
