Per the title. Do you think that with the Nintendo NX, some more life will be brought back into the Mario Kart Franchise again? Now, I'm not trying to say Mario Kart 7 or Mario Kart 8 'flopped' and are lifeless, but really the fact of the matter is that we haven't seen a truly successful Mario Kart that people were so crazy about since Mario Kart Wii. Are we going to see a change? I think that we possibly could if Nintendo brings something special and unique to the table for this upcoming Mario Kart (Mario Kart 9 I'm assuming is what it's going to be called).

I think Mario Kart Wii was so popular because:

-Unlike MK8, it is easy for anyone to pick up and play. In MK8 there is no automatic mode
-It was on one of the most popular consoles ever made by Nintendo. MK8 didn't go as well because less people were willing to pay more money for a WiiU when they already had a Wii
-On Mario Kart Wii there are more options, you could say, to finishing the race. There are more shortcuts and more ways to pass people. On Mario Kart 8, you have to stay on the track or it counts you out of bounds and you respawn. Not as exciting.

So yeah, MK8 was so perfect it wasn't even fun. If Nintendo can make a game with some MK8 features such as the detailed tracks and DLCs and some MKWii features such as more freedom and automatic mode, MK9 could be a huge success

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Nintendo will probably fuck up MK9

Only time will tell! But I hope they don't. I'd love to play a modern Mario Kart. But none of them give me the same feeling as MKW does. Maybe it's the nostalgia, but there's certainly other factors to. I hope they can whip up a really good Mario Kart... Especially if what everyone has said about Mario Kart 8 being rushed is true.

The game needs weird physics and slightly under tested bikes as well as a working item system. It also needs fun tracks, with shortcuts.

Completely agree!

It needs Grumble Volcano and a glitch.

All jokes aside, though, I am sure Nintendo will do great on Mario Kart 9. I am pretty sure they would at least partially listen to the community, but still add some of their own details into the game.

Now that I think about it more, I also think that it would be helpful and Mario Kart will be more of a success when the next generation of Nintendo gamers come in. I think the fact that Mario Kart Wii came out when most of us were young or relatively young and had a lot of time for games, that's a big factor that contributed to MKW's success. Now most of us are grown up (more or less) and we have other obligations besides being able to play video games all day now. I think that when we have the next "wave" of Nintendo gamers come in, we will see a Mario Kart that was as successful as MKW. Hopefully what I just said makes sense lol.
